The short version
- Sign in and open Settings.
- Scroll to Delete account, confirm your password (or, if you signed up with Google or Apple, select Email me a confirmation link and open the link within 30 minutes), and confirm again.
- Your account, comments and preferences are deleted immediately; backups purge within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account: email, username, password hash, sign-in identifiers from Google or Apple, two-factor settings.
- Everything you posted: your comments, including their edit history.
- Your preferences: notification settings, theme, analytics choice, and any analytics events associated with your account.
- Your email address is removed from every notification list.
Server logs that contain your IP address are kept for up to 90 days for security and then expire. Aggregate statistics that identify no one are kept.
If you cannot sign in
Email info+paranormal@greenrobot.com from the address on the account, or tell us the username and something that shows the account is yours. We will verify and delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.
Deleting less than everything
You do not have to delete your account to delete a comment: each of your comments has a delete control. Notification emails have an unsubscribe link and a Settings toggle. Analytics can be turned off in Settings without deleting anything else.
